Power Outages in Western Washington
More than 70,000 people were left without electricity across western Washington due to strong winds that swept through the region. The outages were reported by various utility companies, including Puget Sound Energy, which indicated that approximately 62,200 customers were affected.
In addition to Puget Sound Energy, Snohomish County PUD reported about 11,400 outages, while Seattle City Light noted roughly 2,500 customers without power. The wind gusts reached speeds of 40 to 50 mph, contributing to the widespread disruptions.

The windstorm comes as the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges face a Winter Storm Warning and a rare Blizzard Warning, which is in effect until 5 a.m. This combination of severe weather has created hazardous conditions across the region.
