Nutt, a 22-year-old angler from Nashville, achieved a total catch of 66 pounds, 13 ounces, securing his place in history as the tournament champion. This year’s event took place on the Tennessee River’s Fort Loudoun and Tellico Lakes, with weigh-ins conducted at the Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center on the University of Tennessee’s campus.
The tournament, often referred to as the “Super Bowl of Bass Fishing,” featured a competitive field of fifty-eight anglers. Nutt’s performance was particularly impressive, as he led by four pounds going into Championship Sunday, ultimately finishing ahead of second-place finisher Trey McKinney, who caught 57 pounds, 8 ounces.
This victory marks Nutt as the second rookie in a row to win the Bassmaster Classic, following in the footsteps of Easton Fothergill, the 2025 winner, who finished in fourth place this year.
